TRIESTE – The Triestebookfest enthusiastically announces the second edition of the “Corrado Premuda per Essi Competition”, an event designed to remember the journalist and writer Corrado Premuda. Promoted with the media partnership of the newspaper “Il Piccolo” of Trieste and thanks to the support of Pietro Pittini Foundationthe competition is dedicated to high school students to honor the memory of Premuda, teacher of Italian at the Ial in Trieste, who suddenly passed away on 9 July 2022.
A tribute to Premuda’s passion
“With this competition” – underlines the vice-president of Triestebookfest, Angela Del Prete – “we wish to pay homage to the passion the writer had for teaching, for writing and for Trieste. Participants will be asked to send articles, videos, photos or comics that have as their theme the relationship between man and the environment around him, animal and plant, the same to which the recent Triestebookfest ‘What a Wonderful’ was dedicated World!’”. Optionally, it will be possible to attach a short descriptive text of the work presented. The objective of the competition is to tell stories and reflections on the awareness of how necessary it is to coexist with all the other species on the planet in mutual respect.
Requirements and methods of participation
Participation in the competition is free and reserved for boys and girls resident in the province of Trieste aged between 15 and 18. Each competitor, either individually or in a group, may present only one work from 10 May 2024 to 31 October 2024. The works must be sent via email to the address [email protected].
Jury and prizes
A quality jury, made up of members of the Triestebookfest board, journalists from Il Piccolo and representatives of the Pittini Foundation, will evaluate the works and designate the winners. The jury will also be able to recommend up to four particularly deserving authors, one for each category. The prize consists of a shopping voucher worth 200 euros and the publication of the winning works in the newspaper The small and on the newspaper’s website. The works judged worthy of mention or recommendation will also be published on the Triestebookfest website and social channels.
