the Giro-E stops in Benevento

It kicked off at Benevento the tenth stage of Giro-Ean amateur event that takes place using pedal-assisted bicycles on the same days and on the same roads as Tour of Italy. A one-of-a-kind experience that combines tourism, sustainability and well-being, and also represents an opportunity to enjoy the landscapes of the Bel Paese, without the competitive stress of the official race. The initiative is in fact divided into shorter and free-to-participate stages.

The demonstration started this morning from the upper part of Corso Garibaldiwhere a festive and colorful village was set up with numerous stands of the various cultural and commercial partners of the event.
After a short cycle walk, the e-bikers they reached the Arch of Trajan for the actual departure with scheduled arrival at Bocca della Selvain the municipality of Cusano Mutri. Among the protagonists of the race we met the former skier Giorgio Roccacaptain of the ANCI teamwho proved to be passionately involved.

An interesting event took place during the cycling event workshops organized by ANCI itself with focus on valorisation of intangible heritage for local development. In this regard, the presence of the Tourism Councilor of the Municipality of Benevento is significant, Attilio Cappaand the delegated councilor for Sport, Enzo Lauro. “The Giro-E gave the city extraordinary tourist visibility. Many young people present – they explained – and this was a winning ingredient.”

Finally, as evidence of the interest in local realities, the active involvement of the Pro Loco union of which the national president was present should be noted Antonino La Spina.
Among the associations present are the Pro Loco of Apice, Airola, Solopaca, San Leucio del Sannio and Paduli. The volunteers of the floral decoration group created the logo, designed by the master Paladinof the famous Infiorata of Paduli consisting mainly of flower petals.
A day therefore dedicated to sport, tourism and cultural education.
