Lombardy Region, 6 million euros for the renewal of the car fleet of SMEs

The call, opened on Tuesday 14 May, will allow micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to obtain contributions of up to 30 thousand euros.

The regional tender, opened yesterday, for the modernization of the car fleet intended for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Lombardy amounts to 6 million euros. The investment will encourage the removal of a polluting vehicle, petrol up to Euro 2/II included or diesel up to Euro 5/V included, with consequent purchase, also in the form of financial leasing, of a new zero or very low emission vehicle.

Investments are eligible for the purchase of vehicles for the transport of people or goods (on its own behalf or on behalf of third parties) powered by electricity, hydrogen or endothermic fuel with very low emissions. The purchase of e-cargo bikes, i.e. pedal-assisted bicycles for the transport of goods, will also be financed. Going into more detail, the resources will be disbursed depending on the vehicle’s power supply: contributions of up to 8 thousand euros are expected for light commercial vehicles and up to 30 thousand for heavy electric vehicles; contributions of up to 5 thousand euros for light commercial vehicles and up to 24 thousand for heavy methane/LNG powered ones; up to 5 thousand euros for light commercial vehicles and up to 16 thousand for heavy endothermic powered ones.

Looking at the requirements, the notice provides that each company can submit up to 4 grant applications for the same number of deregistered vehicles owned by the company itself. The vehicles purchased must be registered for the first time in Italy and purchases of vehicles already registered are not eligible. As for the cancellation, it must be after the opening date of the implementation notice. Companies active in the vehicle trade or brokerage sector will not be able to participate in the tender.

During 2023, over 5,500 Lombard families had received the contribution to purchase a car with low environmental impact by replacing a polluting vehicle. Now it is the turn of companies with a dedicated line, agreed with the trade associations to ensure that the investment is functional to the needs of the Lombard economic system. “The alliance between the Region and businesses is fundamental to further improve air quality and consolidate Lombardy as a European model. For us the vision is this – declared the Lombard regional councilor for the Environment and Climate -: environmental sustainability is not achieved with bans and impositions, but with investments in innovation”.

Applications for the contribution request can be submitted via the website http://webtelemaco.infocamere.it until 4:00 pm on 31 October 2024 for the 2024 funding line; starting from 10:00 on 2 December 2024 until 16:00 on 30 September 2025 for the 2025 financing line.
