They celebrate the arrival of the Giro d’Italia

Fano (PU) – Sprint the countdown to the arrival of the Giro d’Italia, Thursday 16 May, and in Fano the enthusiasm is sky high for the arrival of the pink caravan, which brings with it a moment of great sport but also colour, fun, entertainment and the spotlight of the national and international press. The city reciprocates with as many entertainment events aimed at everyone, to be experienced starting from Thursday morning.

The Pincio will be the heart of the pink village and is transformed into ‘GiroLand’: a large space, in collaboration with the RCS Sport group, to welcome athletes, sponsors, journalists, to experience, visit, the hub of activities and the starting point for numerous excursions on foot or by bike, but also the theater of projects linked to the world of two wheels and the stage for bike shows and trial shows.

Not only colour, but also history, culture and traditions and many events that lead the whole city to welcome the twelfth stage.

The festival comes to life around 2pm with the symbols of the city’s culture: the masked procession of the Fano Carnival leads by the Musica Arabita and the historic group La Pandolface made up of armed men, musicians and flag-wavers. Lots of music and color thanks also to Pink Eventi with a show that wants to bring a message of peace and beauty.

Following this, around 3pm, the Giro E is expected to arrive, i.e. cyclists with pedal-assisted racing bicycles, to let all two-wheel lovers experience the pink race and tackle the route reserved for champions.

The arrival of the athletes, near the former Paolini barracks (Viale Gramsci) is expected around 4.30 pm and will be preceded by the long pink caravan. The route of the last kilometer is completely cordoned off, access for citizens and visitors to stand in the front rows and watch the arrival of the race is free.
