Lamezia TermeMay 14, 2024 – An exciting meeting full of extremely significant ideas that took place at the Auditorium of the Einaudi Institute in Lamezia Terme, led by the director Rossana Costantino as part of an interesting path linked to the education and promotion of reading, to deepen current issues and more. Guests of the initiative, curated by teachers Rossella Amendola and Costanza De Fazio, were the journalist and writer Antonio Cannone together with Walter Aversa who discussed with the students the contents of the book “When the ‘Ndrangheta defeated the State”, delving into the implications of the dramatic killing of the policeman Salvatore Aversa and his wife Lucia Precenzano killed by the mafia in Lamezia Terme on 4 January 1992.
A discussion that saw the students as protagonists, many attentive to an event that has indelibly marked the city of Lamezia. Boys and girls who asked the two guests numerous questions. From the debate, the shadows and doubts surrounding the affair emerged. There was talk of the false testimony of Rosetta Cerminara, who had accused two people who later proved innocent; of the many trials that characterized the Aversa case. Of the conviction of the Public Prosecutor of the time, of the two repentants of the Sacra Corona Unita who accused themselves of the double murder, of the massacre of the garbage collectors, Francesco Cristiano and Pasquale Tramonte and of Salvatore Aversa’s investigations to discover the perpetrators and instigators of the death of the two poor workers.
