Banks, Abi: robberies down 50% in Calabria in 2023

Bank robberies halved in Calabria. In 2023, in fact, only 1 was completed in the region hit at the counter against 2 in 2022, with a drop of 50% (see table). This is the picture that emerges from the data of Ossif, the Abi research center on security, which also shows a decline in the phenomenon at a national level: overall, in fact, bank robberies went from 124 in 2022 to 80 in 2023 (-35.5%). In 2023, the so-called risk index – that is, the number of robberies per 100 branches – also drops, going from 0.6 to 0.4 at a national level and from 0.6 to 0.3 in Calabria.

The Ossif investigation was presented today at the Banking and Security conference, the two-day meeting on the key issues of bank security.
