Road race, Augustan Spinali 2nd at the “Jazz run” in Vittoria – La Gazzetta Augustana

AUGUSTA – Second place for the Augustan athlete Luigi Spinali to the seventh edition of the “Jazz run – City of Victoria“, which took place last Sunday, in the city of Ragusa, over a distance of 10km.

The race, valid for the fifth round of the regional road running Grand Prix, organized by the ASD No to Doping of Ragusa, saw almost three hundred runners at the start.

The Augustan, who races for Nicolosi’s Asd Monti Rossi, signed the time of 33’28”preceded only by Dario Longo of Asd Universitas of Palermo, who crossed the finish line in 33’04”, both capable of making space behind them.

It was a very particular race – Luigi Spinali tells us – made so by a very technical route, characterized by many sharp bends and restarts, and by a long uphill stretch. During the week I trained hard, twice a day, and I wanted to compete despite being pumped up, finishing second. I thank my coach Enrico Pafumi and my great training partners with whom I train“.

The Augustan champion, despite being part of the Etna association, continues to prepare for competitive competitions also in his hometown: “In Augusta my favorite route remains the Rossini seafront, excellent for repetitions over distances of a thousand meters and even more. I hope to improve further and return to victory as soon as possible. I thank all my supporters, who cheer me on every day on the local roads by watching me train“.
