14/05/2024 – During the mornings of 13 and 14 May, the Carabinieri dedicated themselves to young students, in a cycle of appointments previously agreed between the Carabinieri and the School Offices, in order to promote the culture of legality, making known the activities that the Army soldiers carry out on a daily basis.
The approximately 60 children on the “trip”, accompanied by their teachers and educators, were welcomed in the barracks in via Salvo D’Acquisto, by the Commander of the Pesaro Company, Lieutenant Colonel Guerino Roberto Spina, by the Commander of the Pesaro Station, Lieutenant CS De Donno Pietro and by Commanders and Carabinieri in service at the competent stations in the territories in which the schools are located (CC Station of Tavullia and Tavoleto); he accompanied them on a tour of the structure, introducing them to the world of the Carabinieri and explaining how the institute service is divided and the peculiar characteristic of the force: the capillarity over the territory, through the presence of numerous stations (thirty-four in the province of Pesaro Urbino).
The visit also gave space to a static exhibition of vehicles supplied to the territorial army, which aroused curious interest as the children had the opportunity to climb aboard the “Gazelles” employed 24 hours a day to patrol the streets of the province. There were numerous curiosities from the young people which were answered by the police. The Commander of the Mobile Radio Section illustrated the tasks and peculiarities of this emergency department; There is also an anti-drug dog unit, with the German shepherd “Bob”. The kids listened attentively as the dog handler explained the work and dedication needed to train the dogs who, at the end of the training cycle, are used in various services, from public order to searching for drugs and explosives.
A day that entertained everyone, even the soldiers, who had the opportunity to explain to a particular audience the principles on which their daily commitment is based.
