In Veneto 44,600 more jobs in the first quarter


(ANSA) – VENICE, MAY 14 – In the first four months of 2024 the balance of the Veneto labor market is positive for 44,600 positions, of which 30,800 fixed-term, 12,800 permanent and 1,000 with apprenticeship contracts. The data emerges from the ‘Compass’ of the regional agency Veneto Lavoro. There was a slight decrease in the amount of hirings (except for the foreign component) and terminations (-1%).

In the month of April alone, 16,700 jobs were gained, with resignations decreasing (-16%). Part-time contracts are confirmed to be growing (+3% compared to 2023), which have reached an impact on total hiring of 34% (49% for women). The balance for the January-April period is positive in all provinces with the exception of Belluno (-3,000), where the effects of the closure of the winter season are still having an impact. Positive balance but decreasing compared to 2023 in the provinces of Vicenza (+2,600) and Padua (+4,400), growing in Venice (+19,700), essentially stable in Treviso (+3,200), Rovigo (+2,400) and Belluno.
