For the first time the five Apulian universities are networking to create common projects in the name of sustainable development. Today, at the headquarters of the Aldo Moro University of Bari, the five rectors signed the agreement with which Rus Puglia was born, a territorial branch of the national network of universities for sustainable development, established in 2017 and which today includes 86 Italian universities . Present were the rector of Uniba Stefano Bronzini, that of the Polytechnic of Bari Francesco Cupertino, that of the Lum of Bari Antonello Garzoni, the rector of the University of Foggia Lorenzo Lo Muzio and his colleague from the University of Salento, Fabio Pollice.
The network will represent a point of reference for the academic world, as well as for public institutions in the area, starting from the Puglia Region. The objective will be to jointly develop proposals, initiatives and documents in the field of sustainable development, sharing knowledge, skills and projects and promoting the exchange of information to spread good practices. “We are committed to networking on a decisive topic for the future – said Bronzini -. A commitment that we made at Crui in 2016 and which we now make as the Apulian university system”. Pollice explained that “this will be a turning point because it will give us the opportunity to work on sustainability all together”.
