Messina – The confrontation between the judge, the public prosecutor and the doctor Antonino lasted just over an hour Barbera, arrested on charges of fraud in the field of building bonuses, in particular with the gondi intended for the 110% superbonus. An interrogation requested by Barbera himself, who wanted to put his version of events in the minutes.
Barbera exonerates his family
Accompanied by the defender, the lawyer Carlo Blackbird, iThe doctor clarified two passages in particular: he exonerated his family members, calling them out of all roles in the events and also from those operating in the companies to which they belong. Everyone had been involved in theoperation taken last March 26th which led him in prison and his son, daughter-in-law, sister and cousin are under house arrest.
The activity of the doctor-consultant
Barbera defended himself, explaining that as regards the monetized credits, i.e. those for which the credits recognized to his “assistants” had been collected, had been monetized precisely in return for work actually carried out. The rest of the credits, however recognized by the Revenue Agency, are not linked, explained the Messina Prosecutor’s Office, to works actually carried out.
The seizures and the first interrogation
For this reason the day of the arrest took place seizure up to 37 million euros, aimed at freezing the credits recognized by the Revenue Agency, found in the tax drawers of the many alleged victims of Barbera. The doctor’s and family’s personal assets, including luxury cars, also ended up under lock and key. Barbera had chose not to respond to the warrant interrogation which took place the day after the arrest. Now his line seems to have changed.
Money gone?
The deputy prosecutor Giuseppe took part in the discussion Adornedowner of the investigation together with the deputy prosecutor Rosa Raffa. The prosecutor’s office, headed by Chief Prosecutor Antonio D’Amato, also put the spotlight on the corporate changes that allowed Barbera to monetise the credits recognized for the procedures for accessing the superbonus forwarded on the companies available to it. The investigation aims to verify what path the almost 2 million euros already monetised have taken, but Barbera today denied having channeled foreign accounts. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor’s Office has concluded this first phase of the investigations, notifying all the initial suspects of the notice of conclusion of the preliminary investigations carried out by the Financial Police. No new and additional names involved appear in the list.
