Viterbo – “Tastings” begins: from chef “on the balcony” Ruben Bondi, to the food and wine excellences of Lazio

Viterbo – Presented this morning at the headquarters of the Viterbo Chamber of Commerce, the “Assaggi” exhibition, which from 18th to 20th May in Piazza San Lorenzo will start with the third edition of the event that enhances and presents Lazio food and wine to the general public.

Over 60 companies were involved in more than 30 events Between wine tastings curated by the expert Carlo Zucchettito which this year are added fermented products such as beers and mead and oil, curated by the tasters of the Chamber of Commerce.

We have an audience that is growing more and more every year – says the president of the Chamber of Commerce Domenico Merlanithis means that the interest in the sector is always very high. Also in this edition the proposals are varied and particular so as to satisfy both adults and children”.

“A demonstrationtion in which we believe very much – states the municipal councilor Silvio Francotourism and agri-food are the lever of economic development and here there are both components in an exceptional location”.

“Tastings represents a precious opportunity to enhance our rich food and wine heritage, promote the meeting between food and tourism and encourage the meeting between businesses and consumers“. concluded the general secretary of the Chamber of Commerce Francesco Monzillo.

The exhibition area with the producers will be set up in the rooms of the Palazzo dei Papi while in the spaces of the adjacent Cersal (Research Center for the History of Upper Lazio), guided tastings and panels dedicated to oil and wine, meetings with guests of prestige, show cooking, book presentations, sensory workshops and talks in the tent structure in Piazza San Lorenzo.

Again in Piazza San Lorenzo, this year too there will be space for educational activities for the little ones organized by Slow Food Viterbo and Tuscia.

The ribbon cutting is scheduled for Saturday 18 May at 10.00 am with Max Mariolachef and television host, while on the evening of Sunday 19th the closing with the cooking show and the presentation of the book by Ruben Bondi, young talent of Italian cuisine. In between, a series of appointments with chefs, entrepreneurs, specialized journalists and special projects.

He also returns with Assaggi Outside Tastings, its “fuori salon” with collateral initiatives that offer further insight into the agri-food sector of Lazio. For the occasion, from 15 to 20 May in Viterbo and in the centers of the province, a rich calendar of themed dinners, tastings and events, all focused on the regional food and wine culture and heritage.

Tastings is organized by Chamber of Commerce of Rieti-Viterbo with the contribution of Chamber of Commerce of Romeof the Municipality of Viterbo and with the participation of Lazio region.
