POZZUOLI – We receive and publish: «Dear editorial team of Cronaca Flegrea, some time ago I carefully read the joint statement signed by the Mayors of Pozzuoli (Luigi Manzoni), Naples (Gaetano Manfredi), Quarto (Antonio Sabino) and Bacoli (Josi Gerardo Della Ragione). I fully agree with their appeal to adhere to the official press releases of the scientific community released by INGV, in order to prevent risks and increase the resilience of the territory. I approve the final sentence of what was disclosed: “trusting those who, every day, live and ensure that they continue to live, in safety, in the Phlegraean fields”. It is precisely this reading that stimulated some of my very personal considerations that I want to share with you, simple concepts that concern the theme of resilience and safety in my city.
THE PROHIBITION – Demonstrating that between saying and doing there is always something at stake… the municipality of Pozzuoli, with ordinance 104 of 02/23/2024, imposed a ban on parking along Via Vigna from 2/23/2024 to 15 /3/2024, to allow excavation works for cable laying by Enel, with the aim of obtaining a technological improvement of the electricity grid. All the citizens of the area, and not only, aware of the public interest of this work, despite the obvious inconveniences that loomed, and despite the fact that the entire area does not appear to be included in any of the ZRPU zones, diligently respected these provisions , despite the absence of any form of labor during the period indicated. Having said this, an extension was issued for these works, with ordinance 144 of 13/03/2024 lasting between 16/03/2024 and 29/03/2024. But considering that the time that had passed had not been sufficient, with ordinance 180 of 4/4/2024 yet another extension arrived, authorizing the aforementioned works until 4/20/2024. Moral of the story: 2 months of work for approximately 400 meters of excavation, including some still to be carried out. Inconveniences, deprivations and sacrifices on the part of all citizens who have reached the limits of tolerance, including protected categories (personalized disabled positions abolished). Impracticability of the important road, for the purpose of immediate use in case of urgent need (escape routes), also from a pedestrian point of view, this is a road without a sidewalk. But it’s not enough. Currently, along the affected stretch (see attached photos) there are several cordoned off areas, none of which respect the rules imposed by the CdS. The entire route is covered with gravel, a very dangerous element for two-wheelers, which causes continuous dust, destined to block drains and sewage systems. If the quality of the works carried out were also evaluated, despite their “public interest”, it would seriously undermine the reliability of what the mayor declared, to the point of putting the credibility of this administration, which continually tries to reassure the citizens, in serious difficulty. own citizens on the efficiency of escape routes, causing them, however, to become real obstacles. Today all the conditions of discomfort, contained in my certified email of April 19th, are dramatically present, and continue to be a concrete obstacle to probable escape routes”. (Ivan Di Roberto)
