Carabinieri checks always tighter in the Lavello area with targeted services to combat crimes, especially against property.
Last Sunday night, the Carabinieri of the Lavello station arrested a 31-year-old citizen for resisting a public official.
The military, engaged in a checkpoint along the SP 48, ordered “ALT” to a car which arrived with two individuals on board, who, at the sight of the operators, they failed to stop, making a hasty escape, trying to cover their tracks.
It came from it a chase, for several kilometres, which ended following the loss of control of the fleeing vehicle, which collided with a reinforced concrete wall.
The passenger disappeared on foot into the surrounding agricultural land, losing track of himself, while the driver was promptly stopped by the Carabinieri of the Lavello station and the Radiomobile, which intervened to help.
The man, who was declared under arrest, following the injuries sustained in the accident, was coming promptly transported to hospital by 118 health workers and judged recoverable in five days.
After the ritual formalities, the subject was transported to his home, under house arrest.
It is stated that the criminal proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase for which the principle of presumption of innocence of the suspect applies until final conviction.
