More trouble is coming for Alessandro Frateschi, the religion professor accused of pedophilia: he will have to face a bankruptcy trial

The 50-year-old from Terracina, Alessandro Frateschi, the religion professor, accused of sexually abusing five minors when he was still teaching at the Ettore Majorana high school in Latina and was a deacon of the Pontine Diocese, was sent to trial for fraudulent bankruptcy.

Only a few days ago, Frateschi had suffered an aggravation of the precautionary measure: for him, as ordered by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Latina, Laura Morselli, the prison measure was taken, as he continued to receive people from outside his family circle under house arrest. Regarding the sexual abuse proceedings, on May 24th, the day set for a new “round” of the preliminary hearing, the psychologist consultant appointed by the investigating judge Morselli, Alessia Micoli, will have to file the expert report on two of the five minor victims. After that, investigating judge Morselli will establish the next steps.

Today, May 13, however, Alessandro Frateschi, together with other suspects – Giuseppe Lauretti, Alfredo Lauretti and Aldo Gianfrochetti – has remedied an indictment for fraudulent bankruptcy regarding the management of a construction company. The accusation, as per practice in these cases, is that of having stolen money and assets from a company declared bankrupt by the Court of Latina. Rather large sums of money that would even go beyond that 800 thousand eurosfor events that occurred in 2015. The trial, as established by the judge for the preliminary hearing of the Court of Latina, Giuseppe Cario, will begin on March 11, 2025.

The investigation by the Guardia di Finanza of Latina was coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Giuseppe Miliano. The public prosecutor Simona Gentile requested that Frateschi and the other suspects be sent to trial.

Another problem for Frateschi, after he had also been suspended as an official for having stolen 50 thousand euros from the coffers of the Diocesan Institute for the support of the Clergy of Latina.
