Other Municipalities: The “Abruzzo in Europe” PD assembly in Pescara: «These elections are a watershed»

PESCARA. “This electoral campaign for the European elections is a watershed: on the one hand Giorgia Meloni who leads a coalition divided on everything – while we are here Giorgetti and Tajani are fighting each other over the superbonus – on the other the Democratic Party which wants a ‘Stronger Europe’.

The group leader of the PD senators, Francesco Boccia, said thisthis afternoon in the council room of the Municipality of Pescara, on the occasion of the regional assembly of the Democratic Party entitled “Abruzzo in Europe”.

Boccia then added: “We are very worried because regarding the super bonus there is the risk that thousands of companies will fail due to the retroactivity choice made by Giorgetti, and we have to witness the divisions in the majority regarding Calderoli’s Spaccaitalia. We ask the people of Abruzzo to vote for the Democratic Party because with this vote we give strength to the minimum wage and the Schlein bill which provides more resources for healthcare and the cancellation of spending ceilings, wanted by the Berlusconi government in which Meloni was minister . Those who vote for the Democratic Party choose to vote for a more cohesive Europe and to give greater strength to universal rights such as school and health; those who vote centre-right want a weaker EU, with barbed wires, cultural regression on rights and policies à la Vannacci”.

As for administrative elections in the capital, the PD senator stated that “Pescara above all needs perspective, accompaniment towards the great transformations that are there for all to see. And that’s what we are doing from the Alps to Lampedusa with Elly Schlein, who will be here in Pescara on Friday 17 May”.

Then the Abruzzo candidate for the European elections on 8-9 June spoke, Manola Di Pasquale: “We must all commit ourselves to a greater affirmation of people’s rights, against discrimination and the compression of freedoms. The mobilization of the party is notable, as a region we have the numbers necessary for the progressive family to be able to elect an MEP, we must aim for this objective to restore Abruzzo to representation at a European level”.

For the regional secretary of the Democratic Party, Daniele Marinelli, today was “a very important assembly because it launches the crucial phase of the electoral campaign, which concerns both the administrative elections in many municipalities and the European vote. Both challenges are important for the Democratic Party: we are committed to the strong and authoritative candidacy of Manola Di Pasquale from Abruzzo, which allows us to make a great contribution to this challenge, and we are present in all the centers where people vote to put in field a quality political offer for the good administration of the Municipalities, in which we are engaged in broad coalitions to defeat the centre-right”.
