The Sintagma company has agreed with the Administration of Savona on the Pums timetable, the Urban Plan for Sustainable Mobility which brings together the actions already carried out, those in progress and plans new ones, with a medium and long term horizon.

The professionals of Sintagma, an engineering company from Perugia which has been commissioned by the administration, will deliver the final draft of the changes regarding the traffic and parking planning of our city by the month of November.

In the meantime, the work phases will be punctuated by a series of intermediate steps. Here they are: the second half of May will be dedicated to a survey campaign; by July the first hypotheses on Piazza Mameli will be formulated; at the beginning of September there will be a participation phase through three tables dedicated to parking, public transport and soft mobility; in October Sintagma will put forward a proposal for the parking plan; it will instead deliver the draft PUMS by 10 November.

“The PUMS – explains the Councilor for Mobility, Ilaria Becco – will allow us to address the main critical issues of Savonese mobility both in terms of traffic and parking and will proceed hand in hand with the work of reviewing the TPL lines. We consider it a strategic tool also because it will allow us to take an important step forward in a fundamental sector for today’s cities: sustainable mobility”.

Returning to the first phase, the one relating to the investigation campaign, it opens today.

From Sintagma they explain that the first step is the reconstruction of the current road traffic situation, it involves taking a snapshot of how traffic behaves in the city today. Through the use of two people in the field, appropriately trained and coordinated by Sintagma technicians, motivational interviews will be carried out aimed at motorists entering Savona in the morning rush hour through the main entrance roads to the city.

Furthermore, the owners and employees of commercial and artisan businesses will be interviewed on the topic of goods logistics.

Currently a Sintagma technician is in Savona monitoring cameras and radar equipment owned by the company for the detection of traffic flows. Subsequently, an online questionnaire will be published aimed at understanding the habits, opinions and needs of citizens.
