Four hundred locals celebrating in the courtyard of Palazzo Candiotti

The first one was good, but also the second one. After last year, the “People’s Festival” achieved another success. In fact, on the evening of Saturday 11 May, 400 locals, wearing handkerchiefs around their necks and wearing traditional clothes, took part, in the courtyard of Palazzo Candiotti, in the second edition of the event created on the initiative of the ten districts and with the contribution of the Ente Giostra, to celebrate the soul of Quintana, its people. That is, those men and women, young and old, who annually commit themselves to organizing the event. A pleasant surprise in this 2024, as the Giostra Authority informs us, is the very high participation of locals from very young ages, testifying to “a good generational turnover” within the ten districts.

But last Saturday’s evening, experienced among convivial moments and games typical of the Quintana tradition, was also an opportunity to reward those commoners who stood out for their passion and commitment. Ten awards were awarded, one for each district. Those who obtained recognition in this second edition of the “Festa del Popano” were: Marco Silvestri for Ammanniti, Sandra Tomassini for Badia, Alessandro Settimi for Cassero, Alda Marchi for Contrastanga, Antonfranco Piluso for Croce Bianca, Piero Ciancaleoni for Giotti, Vincenzo Falasca for La Mora, Roberto Sebastiani for Morlupo, Marco Angelucci for Pugilli and Marco Orsolini for Spada.

Once this “Commoner’s Festival” has also concluded, the next appointment is on the morning of Tuesday 14 May, when in the headquarters of Palazzo Candiotti, the Ente Giostra will officially present the program of events and initiatives that will accompany the Giostra della Sfida, which will be held at the Campo de li Giochi in via Nazario Sauro on the evening of June 15th.
