Civitavecchia, Unindustria: “Minister Urso at the Area Committee”

CIVITAVECCHI (Rome) – “I want to thank the Minister for Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso for his willingness to participate today in our Business Area Committee of Unindustria Civitavecchia, extended to guests and stakeholders from the area. Thank you also for your presence to the Vice President of the Region and Councilor for Economic Development Roberta Angelilli, to the Honorable Mauro Rotelli and to the President of the Port Authority Pino Musolino, whom I also thank for the hospitality in the Conference Room”. He declares it Cristiano DionisiPresident of Unindustria Civitavecchia.

“The Civitavecchia area has contributed to the Italian system in recent decades, above all for the two vocations it expresses, the port one and the energy one. The port, thanks also to the work of Musolino himself, is becoming increasingly modern, sustainable, competitive and capable of welcoming the new challenges that an increasingly difficult world from a geopolitical point of view must face. A port which is the flagship in Italy and Europe from a cruise point of view, but which at the same time wants to establish itself more and more as a commercial and industrial port”.

“In the energy sector, however, we are faced with perhaps the greatest challenge that this area has to face. The national strategic choice to exit from coal energy production has a strong impact, especially on the production chain of SMEs which are linked to the maintenance activities of the plants. It is for this reason that we asked to face this challenge, this path, with the guarantee of the highest institutional levels, a request which was accepted by Parliament and which materialized with the opening of the Coordination Table which is working right at the Ministry led by the Honorable Adolfo Urso”.

“Both in the various meetings of the Coordination Committee that were held (the last of which was last March 11th), and in those of a more territorial nature coordinated by Vice President Angelilli, as representatives of the industrial world we have always expressed a general will that we believe absolutely important: Civitavecchia must be considered an area of development, not an area of crisis, and we must work to become increasingly attractive”.

“The request we submitted to the Roundtable is that of recognition of the strategic nature of our territory in the path of the energy transition. We believe that this area can and should be considered a pilot area in which to carry out industrial projects that see our companies in the electromechanical cluster engaged in new activities, also in light of a re-skill of the skills that we have already started and on which we are working ”.
