the basketball playground project is renewed for 6 years

The Parco del Mare basketball playground will continue to take on the role of Moab Court for six more years. The City Council of the Municipality of Rimini has in fact approved in recent days the special project presented by MOAB, a leading company at national level in the organization of events and sports marketing which since its creation has supported the Municipal Administration of Rimini in the implementation of the basketball court on the sea which in two years has become the point of reference for the Rimini and national street basketball movement.

Created together with a leading partner in the field of youth communication such as Red Bull, the MOAB Court has in its artwork curated by Truly Design some elements of the territory such as the Arch of Augustus, the Tiberius Bridge, the Ferris Wheel and the waterfront which made it become one of the most Instagrammed places in the area not only among basketball fans but above all among ordinary people, tourists and Rimini residents.

The agreement between the Municipality of Rimini and MOAB provides that the company led by Andrea Cicchetti, in view of the exclusive visibility protected by the Administration itself, on some elements of the field such as the plate, the structure of the baskets and the baskets themselves and the safety mattresses take care of polishing the resin of the pitch during the Made in MOAB events and replacing the nets in order to safeguard the usability and safety of the game for all the kids who will play on the playground. At the same time, together with those of MOAB, the brands of the partner Red Bull are also present.

The approval of the special project by the Council, after the success of the 2023 edition, gives great impetus to the preparation of the second edition of the Moab Court Experience, the event dedicated to the contamination between 3×3 basketball and the urban street world in the process of definition at the MOAB Court next July (for information: [email protected]).

Statement from the Municipal Administration of Rimini: “With its modern design and its strategic position, the playground immediately became a much loved field not only by athletes and basketball enthusiasts, but by all citizens and tourists. The promotion of well-being, life in the open air, aggregation, the valorisation of sport: within that now iconic perimeter, all the elements behind the ‘philosophy’ of the Parco del Mare are contained, in the perspective of an infrastructure rich in functions and to be fully experienced 365 days a year”.

Statement from MOAB CEO, Andrea Cicchetti: “I am very satisfied with the approval of this project by the Municipal Administration of Rimini because it represents the continuation of the idea of creating it together with the Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad and the Councilors Moreno Maresi first and Michele Lari then, Roberta Frisoni and Mattia Morolli , a basketball court for the city in a dramatic place when the Parco del Mare was still a large construction site”. In less than two years the MOAB Court has become an icon in the Rimini skyline but what makes me most proud is observing that it thrives on the desire to play and socialize on the part of many young people in every season and at every moment of the day and night ”.
