The dream of a child-friendly Casoria takes shape. In just a year the former boss’s bunker has become a children’s centre.

On Wednesday 15 May at 10.30 am the Raffaele Bene municipal administration, together with the local authorities and the National Agency for the Administration and destination of assets seized and confiscated from crime, will inaugurate the socio-educational structure in Via Monte Bianco, dedicated to the children.

It will be a day of rebirth for the Stella neighborhood and for the entire community which returns to take possession of an asset taken from crime and intended to improve the lives of families with social gardens and spaces for aggregation.

The works, as promised at the time of demolition in April 2023, were completed within a year, thus sublimating an action with a strong symbolic value. The center is, in fact, built around a tree, planted in the exact spot where the bunker was located. A concrete and above all perennial gesture of rebirth.

The words of Mayor Raffaele Bene

“Transforming a villa freed from crime into a community center for children is one of the results we are most proud of, especially due to its high symbolic value. The rebirth of this community is possible and starts from the desire to reclaim spaces removed from illegality”, commented the mayor Raffaele Bene and the councilor for urban planning Tommasina D’Onofrio, who followed the process firsthand.
