BARI – They would have prostituted themselves in luxury facilities in the provinces from Bari and Bat some underage girls with the promise of easy money. It was a mother’s complaint that triggered the investigation by the police Bari Flying Squad which resulted today in the execution of ten precautionary measures.

The restrictive measures, issued by the investigating judge of the Bari court at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, were carried out in the regional capital, but also in Trani, Lecce and Rome. Four women, aged 35, 21, 25 and 24 respectively, a 29 year old and a 25 year old from Bari were arrested and taken to prison on charges of “having induced, favored, exploited, managed and organised the prostitution of three minor girls, deriving a huge profit from the sexual services offered, for a fee, to a plurality of customers”.
Those arrested
For two customers, aged 47 and 42, who, aware of the girls’ minor age, according to the investigators, they did not hesitate to have sexual relations with them in exchange for money, resulting in house arrest. For a third customer, aged 55, and against a 45-year-old from Bari, manager of an accommodation facility in which he ‘tolerated – underlines a note from the Police Headquarters – the habitual practice of prostitution, there is an obligation to reside in the municipality of residence.
The investigation
The investigations were started by the Bari Flying Squad in March 2022, following the complaint presented by the mother of a 16-year-old, who noticed anomalous behavior in her daughter and found her dating an adult, alleged escort, resident in the Marche region.
Starting from October 2021, the girls involved, aged 16 at the time, they would have been lured and introduced into the world of prostitution with the promise of easy earnings. Some customers reportedly paid hundreds of euros.
