The University of Foggia, as part of incoming orientation, proposes for this year “Interconnections. The colors of choice“, a series of events designed for students to help them choose their academic and professional paths in the next academic year.

Through workshops, seminars, interventions by experts and teachers, students have the opportunity to discover the faculties and study courses of Unifg’s educational offer, understand the interconnections between disciplines and acquire useful information for making informed decisions. The goal is to help students enhance their talents, passions and goals and provide them with the tools necessary to pursue a satisfying academic and professional path.

Already on April 18th in the Aula Magna Valerio Spada in via Caggese theOpen Day with the welcome of graduating students, information stands of the Departments, distribution of gadgets. There was no shortage of institutional greetings from Maria Aida EpiscopoMayor of the Municipality of Foggia, by prof.re Giorgio Moriprofessor of Histology and Rector’s Delegate for Teaching and Placement, of Prof. Giusi Antonia Tototeacher of Special Pedagogy and Rector’s Delegate for Teacher Training and Continuing Education and Orientation, of Domenico CastellanetaDirector of ADISU Puglia – territorial headquarters of Foggia, of the prof.ssa Chiara Valeria Marinelliprofessor of Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology, of prof Cristiana Simonetti, Delegate for Student Services and ADISU. Without forgetting the intervention of Pegah Moshir Pourconsultant and activist of human and digital rights, and the testimony of excellent graduates from Unifg and PCA Tutors.

Furthermore, between the months of April and May, the Open week of the Departmentsorientation meetings at the six university divisions: Department of Humanities, Department of Economics, Department of Agricultural Sciences, Department of Medical Area, Department of Social Sciences, Department of Law.

The May 16thinstead, a will take place hackathon, an event in which experts from different sectors will participate with working, educational and social purposes. The initiative, promoted by Learning Sciences institute coordinated by Prof Giusi Antonia Toto, will start at 2.30 pm at Piazza Umberto Giordano in Foggia and will include an Inspirational section, application workshops, a Hacking with group work, the submission of projects and an Erasmus special with the participation of international university students. And then, in the evening, food stands set up by students from hospitality institutes, institutional greetings from Unifg, presentation of Reel and, to conclude, an inclusive musical band and a DJ set until midnight.

The Magnificent Rector of Unifg, the Prof. Lorenzo Lo Muzio declares that: “the intent of this hackathon is to create opportunities by following unconventional paths. With this event, the University of Foggia intends to offer an environment in which people with different professional skills collaborate on a specific project that interests everyone, encouraging contacts between participants that otherwise could not have been created. This hackathon will address issues of public utility, such as education, active citizenship, inclusion, to raise awareness and direct the attention of future students of our University.”

“Hackathons are a good opportunity to learn new knowledge and skills, meet new people and, why not, also have fun. It also gives them the opportunity to give shape to their ideas and solve problems,” she said Prof. Toto.

The prof.re Giorgio Mori added: “These inclusive and welcoming competitions have goals that require participants to work alongside various professionals with skills that are new or different from their own. This is precisely the added value that makes a hackathon such an interesting event: you learn, get to know and have fun at the same time.”
