MODENA. When the doctors at the pediatric emergency room of the Modena hospital found themselves faced with her case, it didn’t take them long to understand what had happened: the 12-year-old patient who showed up accompanied by her family had clear signs of sexual violence. Thus began the story that has shocked Modena in recent days: a 12-year-old girl, resident in a locality in the province, was allegedly sexually abused by two other boys just older than her, aged 15-16. Not in threatening or unsafe places, but indoors in her home.
The hospital doctors immediately notified the police and the girl was included in the psychological support program that public health provides in cases like these. The medical and health checks carried out at the Modena hospital not only confirmed the circumstance, but also made the doctors who examined her believe that they should immediately inform the police. Tomorrow the complaint will be filed and the 12-year-old will certainly be the first to be heard, in a protected manner and in the presence of a psychologist, to begin to reconstruct the facts.
