In the last act of the event played in Cuneo, Bonitta’s team fails to repeat the semi-final levels against Grottazzolina and loses to a solid and compact Consoli Sferc. The Ravenna season ends with fourth place in the championship, playoff semi-final brought to a tie-break in game 3 and the final of the Italian Cup
The 2024 A2 Italian Men’s Volleyball Cup ends up on the Consoli Sferc Brescia board. In the final, played at the Cuneo sports hall which hosted the final four, Consar Ravenna was unable to repeat the splendid performance provided in the semi-final against Grottazzolina.
Brescia square, solid, deadly in attack especially with the Klapwijk-Gavilan pair, capable of scoring 23 and 16 points respectively, and continuing their game. Ravenna paid the price in the first set for too many service errors (10), and then for the inability to find rhythm and continuity to contain the opponents and bring the match to their side. The 35% and 41% in attack in the second and third sets give the extent of the difficulties encountered by Goi and his teammates.
