The Ce.Doc has collected in the volume “Brescian Catholics and the Piazza Loggia massacre” the reactions of the Catholic world in the weeks immediately following May 28, 1974. The presentation is scheduled for May 17 at 6 pm in the headquarters of the Civiltà Bresciana Foundation. The volume consists of four parts. The first presents a sort of press review that reconstructs the news of the days of the massacre and the funeral. In the second part the official documents of the Church are presented, with the messages of the Bishop, Msgr. Luigi Morstabilini, and the homily he gave at the funeral, the manifesto of the Brescia Church (which was contested by some basic ecclesial communities), the condolences of the Milanese Church and that of the CEI. In the third part, a first section reports the declarations of various associations from Brescia, including Catholic Action and the ACLI, and in a second section various comments that appeared in the local press, including those of Enzo Giammancheri, Sandro Fontana, Mino Martinazzoli, Mario Cattaneo and Carlo Manziana. Finally, in the fourth part there is space for texts that appeared in the national Catholic press in the aftermath of the massacre, including those by Ernesto Balducci and Ettore Masina, as well as a contribution by Emanuele Severino.

Friday 17 May, after the introductory greetings of Carla Boroni, President of the Scientific Committee of the Civiltà Bresciana Foundation, and Michele Busi, President of the Documentation Center (Ce.Doc.), speakers include: Msgr. Gabriele Filippini, Roberto Rossini, President of the City Council of Brescia, and Alfredo Bazoli, Senator.
