Two thirty-year-olds, a man and a woman, were caught by the faithful this afternoon carrying out sexual acts in the church of Sant’Andrea, in Viareggio. They called the police in and broke off their relationship. The two were taken to the police station where they were identified and reported for alleged obscene acts in a public place and for contempt of religion. I am an Italian citizen.
According to what was learned in Viareggio, the two were discovered before the 6pm mass, near a confessional.
They would have been in altered psychophysical conditions, they had bottles of beer nearby.
The church is in the center and is open for worship, anyone can enter during the day. The arrival of believers for Sunday afternoon mass made it possible to discover the couple in unmistakable acts. The faithful notified the parish priest, who called the police.
It seems that the couple acted even though there was already someone praying on the benches.
