Surprise indiscretion regarding the possible arrival of Antonio Conte at Milan. The Rossoneri fans didn’t expect it.
The Milan is undoubtedly one of the teams that has been causing the most talk in recent weeks. If the latest results on the pitch have left something to be desired, with the exception of the fresh 5-1 inflicted on Cagliari, the Rossoneri continue to be at the center of market news. In fact, for weeks there has been discussion about who the club’s next manager could be given the practically certain farewell of Stefano Pioli at the end of the season.
As usual, many names have been mentioned and others could be added to the very long list. At the moment, however, there seems to be an all-Portuguese two-horse race between Sergio Conceicao and Paulo Fonseca. The Porto coach is certainly more appreciated by the fans than the former Roma coach, but it is no mystery that the favorite of the majority of Rossoneri supporters is only one: he speaks Italian and his name is Antonio Conte.
The coach from Lecce is seen as the only real man capable of providing the necessary turning point and allowing Milan to return to competing on multiple fronts. According to various rumours, however, the company has never really taken into consideration the profile of the former Juventus and Inter player, preferring less expensive profiles. The truth, however, seems very different.
Milan is still thinking about Conte: secret negotiations
Just when the fans seemed to have resigned themselves to the idea of not seeing Conte in the Rossoneri, some news rekindled their hopes. In fact, as reported by SportMediasetthe Salento coach still remains the management’s favorite and we would be continuing to negotiate under the table, without revealing much. Everything will depend on Gerry Cardinale and how much he is willing to invest in the next technical guide. Conte’s name is undoubtedly the most intriguing, but it is also the most expensive, with all the other names being circulated which would therefore be alternatives.
For his part, Conte has long been open to the Rossoneri destination and the possibility of returning to coaching in Serie A, where he has always won and done well. Milan, therefore, has its destiny in its own hands and it will be up to the club to decide which path to take: whether the more ambitious one that leads to Conte, with a higher investment, or the one that leads to Conceicao and Fonseca, less stimulating but undoubtedly more convenient (at least from an economic point of view).
