A man who sexually harassed and raped the woman who served as a carer in his elderly mother’s home has been arrested and sentenced to three and a half years in prison. The facts date back to 2012: only three days had passed since the job offer when the man, then over fifty years old, began to ask the woman, a twenty-seven year old of Moldovan originto also provide sexual services, which – he had specified – should have been included in the pay for services to the mother. Constant and daily violence who didn’t listen to reason. The woman had already explained to him that she was not interested, that she was married and had a daughter. But no refusal and no explanation could contain the fifty-year-old who didn’t want to take a step back: several times, even when she was in a clear state of alcohol abuse, he had forced her to defend herself from groping in various parts of her body and from explicit attempts to have sexual intercourse, even in the presence of mother who would later confirm the facts.
The complaint, the investigation and the sentence
Was after yet another attempt at violence that the woman had finally decided to report him to the authorities. The man, now sixty-seven years old, he was investigated and convicted with a sentence that became final only in February 2023. Yesterday the prison doors opened for him: the agents of the flying squad of the Padua Police Headquarters, led by Carlo Pagano, tracked him down at his workplace and arrested him on charges of continuous sexual violence.
