Rome, 12 May. (askanews) – Street art returns to animate the ancient village of Civitacampomarano (CB), with a new edition of CVTà Street Fest, the international festival directed by Alice Pasquini and organized by the CivitArt Cultural Association which has transformed the small Molise town in an open-air museum, free and open, a destination for street artists and visitors from all over the world. Scheduled from 14 to 16 June, the event will once again bring art, music, events and celebrations through the streets and squares of the village with ancient origins, and among its people, continuing in that process of regeneration begun since the foundation of the festival – born in 2016 from the vision of Alice Pasquini – which has made the small town in the province of Campobasso the symbol of Molise that “resists”. The ninth edition of Cvtà Street Fest invites artists from Great Britain, Norway, Spain, and Greece: the English duo Snik, among the constantly rising names in the panorama of contemporary urban art, known for the use of the multilevel stencil technique, rigorously cut by hand; Strøk, stage name of Anders Gjennestad, a Norwegian artist who stands out for his surreal and poetic creations, three-dimensional figures that seem to defy the laws of gravity; the Catalan Octavi Serra, who between design and photography builds real conceptual installations that criticize contemporary society by urging change; and Taxis, born Dimitris Trimintzios, born in Poland but resident in Greece, an eclectic artist, always poised between realism and abstraction, capable of capturing emotions and moods. They are the protagonists of this new edition of Cvtà Street art, to which the town will offer its walls, doors and views, as a canvas to create new and site-specific works, created with multifaceted techniques, in the constant search for new interactions with places and with the community, in an ideal link between past and contemporaneity. Testimonies that the artists leave on the walls and which integrate in an original way with the local traditions and landscape, creating a constantly evolving street art gallery, which today has over 70 works of art by artists such as David de la Mano, aAlex Senna, Nespoon, Jan Vormann, Add Fuel, Martin Whatson, Biancoshock, Icks, Uno, Gola Hundun just to name a few. As per Cvtà Street Fest custom, the festival is also an opportunity to discover the natural and historical beauties of the village, such as the Angioino Castle, and its culture, starting with the gastronomic one of street food of typical local products such as “cielli” and the “passatelle”. The days of Friday and Saturday will be dedicated to photography, with the workshop “Urban Photo Hunts: the fabrics of Civita” to discover the thousand rural and artistic facets of Civitacampomarano, organized with Urban Photo Hunts, a cultural association promoting the creative exploration of spaces urban through “photo hunts” and walks. And at the poetry slam, the “verse-driven” competition that will see aspiring poets competing with each other who only have body, voice and a few minutes at their disposal, and whose performance will be judged by the public. While the highly anticipated tours of the walls are enriched with new proposals: a tour guided by children and specifically dedicated to them, the “fit” tour for the more sporty, and the nocturnal tour of the walls, to discover the works widespread in the country, which for the for the first time they will be illuminated and visible even after sunset. And there will be no shortage of space for music, with live shows and DJ sets that will liven up the festival weekend until late at night. Also scheduled is the presentation of the book The Hundred Places of the Contemporary in Italy, by Nicolas Ballario, curator and television and radio host, guest of the festival to talk about his research on an Italy waiting to be discovered and explored: an alternative guide to historical routes most popular, in which Civitacampomarano has fully entered. Cvtà Street Fest, with the artistic direction of Alice Pasquini, is organized by the CivitArt Cultural Association in collaboration with the ProLoco “Vincenzo Cuoco” of Civitacampomarano and the municipality of Civitacampomarano.
