ALEXANDRIA – A great one applause of all participants in the Stralessandria supported the workers’ protest Centrale del Latte of Alessandria and Asti, the company destined for liquidation. A representation of 48 workers gave rise to this morning’s demonstration, promoted by the union Flai Cgil. At the end of the race the workers took to the stage to make their voices heard.
“We ask you to join the protest and support our cause, keep asking for our milk in the shops” the worker underlined Francesca Previti “the Central risks disappearing from tomorrow, the feeling of uncertainty and precariousness oppresses us. We will continue to work until the milk arrives. We were treated with indifference when things got difficult, we cannot remain silent in the face of this injustice. We cannot go on strike and stop production, risking becoming those responsible for closing the company. We ask the competent authorities alternative solutions to dismissal: Those who contributed to this situation must be held accountable for their actions and must pay for the pain and distress they have caused. We are not alone in this fight: we ask for respect for our rights and our work. We ask to be heard and to be taken seriously. We will continue to fight until we get guarantees.” The workers also asked the Alexandrians to post a photo with milk cartons on Instagramdistributed to all participants at the end of the race: the hashtag is #Let’s save the milk plant.
“We received the solidarity of all citizens and the organizers, whom we thank, made the space available to us to highlight our drama” underlined the provincial secretary Flai CGIL Raffaele Benedetto “we requested and obtained an urgent meeting with the entire Board of Directors on Monday morning. Tonight there will still be production and we will still be out on the shelves. We want to know if we still have the conditions to produce.”
