Venice, Sveva Alviti will host the opening and closing evenings – Last Hour

The actress Sveva Alviti will host the opening and closing evenings of ’81. International Film Festival of the Venice Biennale, directed by Alberto Barbera. Alviti will open the exhibition on the evening of Wednesday 28 August, on the stage of the Sala Grande (Palazzo del Cinema al Lido) on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, and will lead the closing ceremony on Saturday 7 September, on the occasion of which the Lions and the other official awards of the 2024 edition.

Born in Rome, Sveva Alviti began studying acting at an early age with some of the best American teachers, including the famous coach Susan Batson, in parallel with a modeling career that soon took her to New York. In 2009 she made her debut on Broadway as the protagonist of the play The Interrogation and in 2011 she participated in the 68th edition of the Venice Film Festival with the short film Alice by Roberto de Paolis. In 2012 she was she in the film Nothing can stop us by Luigi Cecinelli and she was in Buongiorno Papa by Edoardo Leo. The following year she was one of the protagonists of the film Cam Girls directed by Mirca Viola and she brought a show entirely dedicated to the actress Monica Vitti to the Quirino Theater in Rome, inspired by the film Drama della gelosia.

The consecration came in 2017 with Dalida, the biopic by Lisa Azuelos on the famous French icon, which earned her the nomination as best emerging actress at the Cesar 2018 and which was a great success in France (at the top of the box office for weeks) and in Italy, where it was broadcast as a special event for the first time on Rai 1. In 2018 Sveva Alviti is the female protagonist of the film Lukas released in over 250 theaters in France, Belgium and the UK, a thriller with Jean Claude Van Damme. During the same year she is she in cinemas with her Love Addict with Michael Madsen, where she plays a femme fatale in the role of Henriette. In 2019 she shot Beignets de Songe in France, directed by Fabienne Redt, and received the Kinéo award as Guest Star in Venice. Three years later she won the award for best performer at the Rome Independent Film Festival for her co-starring role in the arthouse film Between the Waves, directed by Marco Amenta.

In 2023 he was the protagonist of Entres les Vagues by Anaïs Volpé, presented at the Cannes Film Festival in the Quinzaine des Cinéastes section and winner of numerous awards throughout France.

The same year he appeared on French TV in the series against violence against women H24 and made his directorial debut with the short film Les jour d’après.

In March 2023, AKA was released, her first film for Netflix – where she plays the female protagonist Natalya – a film which had great success on the platform.

The second season of Nudes, produced by Rai Fiction, will be broadcast from September 15th, and in autumn 2024 he will take part in an American project that will talk about the topic of MeToo entitled The other side of Fame. The actress is preparing to start filming Walking Through the Fire, her directorial debut for a documentary which will talk about women, addictions and depression.
