CROTONE – Now it’s official: the extraordinary commissioner for industrial reclamation will not be present at the city council meetings on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 May, called in an extraordinary session to discuss the depollution of the site of national interest. General Emilio Errigo himself made this known by issuing the letter with which he had already communicated last Wednesday to the mayor Voce and the president of the Megna assembly “my inability to be present on both dates indicated, due to the pressure of commitments institutions that will necessarily see me present in those days in Rome, at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and other public administrations, aimed at finding shared solutions, at every level, in favor of the Sin of Crotone – Cassano and Cerchiara di Calabria” .
Errigo expresses “gratitude for the kind attention” given to him by the Municipality and confirms “my firm will, repeatedly expressed in all public forums, to accelerate and bring to a successful conclusion all the initiatives for the exclusive benefit of the community of Crotone and of all the territories exposed for too many years to risks to public health and the environment. I will therefore be available to attend other meetings of the City Council, starting from the second ten days of June 2024, on dates to be agreed between the respective Secretariats”.
The absence was anticipated on Saturday by the councilors Luana Cavallo (Lega) and Salvo Riga (Action) who had also invited President Megna to postpone the two sessions to avoid useless monologues by the councilors on a topic widely debated several times in the Chamber.
