Bad weather lurking, meteorological alert is triggered. The natural risk monitoring functional center of the Lombardy Region has issued a yellow bulletin (ordinary criticality) in force from 12pm today, Sunday 12 May, until 6am on Monday 13 May.
The weather summary
An increase in instability is expected for today, 12/05. Scattered showers or thunderstorms are expected across the reliefs, particularly in the Pre-Alps and, towards the evening, a progressive increase in the probability of thunderstorms also in the North-West (to a lesser extent also in the western plain), with the possibility of locally intense phenomena.
As regards the lower plain and the Apennines, locally strong thunderstorms will be possible but at the moment, compared to the Alpine and pre-Alpine mountains and the foothills, the probability of convection triggering is relatively lower.
Initially weak variable winds, tending to weak or moderate southerly or westerly from the afternoon. The probability of strong gusts of wind in the western mountains towards the evening is reported.
During the night and early morning of Monday 13/05, scattered showers or thunderstorms will still be possible in western sectors and central reliefs, even of moderate or strong intensity.
The Functional Center will re-evaluate this morning, with the new updated forecast scenarios, the possible update of the alert color codes.
