On Sunday 19 May 2024, Taranto will host “Solidarity in flight edition 3”, which aims to support the association “Italian Cystic Fibrosis League Puglia Odv”, active in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. The event aims to raise funds to finance research on the disease, support patients affected by this pathology, their families and treatment centers.
Cystic Fibrosis, a chronic and degenerative genetic disease unfortunately still without a definitive cure, predominantly affects the Caucasian population and has a devastating impact on the quality of life of patients and their families. Despite the efforts of thousands of researchers around the world, there is no definitive cure, but experimental medicine has already allowed a significant increase in life expectancy and a better quality of life for patients.
The “Solidarity in flight edition 3” event is the result of a collaboration between the Sarihan Company of the Scaut Assoraider Section “Deri” – Taranto 1, the Proloco of Capo San Vito – Taranto, the “Amici del vento” association, “Lega Italian cystic fibrosis Puglia Odv”. The event will take place at Lido San Michele in Viale del Tramonto, 87 (TA), from 09.30 to 19.30. During the day, you can take part in a kite-making workshop and watch spectacular acrobatic demonstrations by expert kite flyers along the coast, accompanied by moments of entertainment.
To join the initiative, there is a contribution of 7 euros which will allow the purchase of the kit for a kite and a random gift. Any further donation will be welcomed and will contribute to the cause of Cystic Fibrosis research. The event will be postponed to Sunday 2 June with the same times and methods in case of unfavorable weather. The event takes advantage of the moral patronage of the Municipality of Taranto.
