CROTONE Institutional commitments will prevent the extraordinary commissioner for reclamation, Emilio Errigoto participate in the meeting of the Crotone municipal council, scheduled for tomorrow on first call and for the following day on second call. The extraordinary session of the assize had been requested by twelve opposition municipal councilors to discuss the issue of reclamation, in light of the debate that opened in Crotone around the topic. The councilors had specifically asked the mayor and the president of the city council to invite the commissioner, whose presence was considered essential to clarify some aspects of the issue. Errigo, therefore, will not be there and has informed the mayor and Prime Minister with a note in which he expresses «gratitude for your kind attention» received with the invitation to the city council meetings. «In spite of myself – we read in Errigo’s note – I regret having to communicate the my inability to be present on both dates indicated, due to the pressure of institutional commitments which will necessarily see me present in those days in Rome, at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and other public administrations, aimed at finding shared solutions, at every level, in favor of Sin of Crotone – Cassano and Cerchiara of Calabria». Continuing, he adds: «My firm will remains understood, repeatedly expressed in all public forums, to accelerate and bring to a successful conclusion all the initiatives for the exclusive benefit of the community of Crotone and of all the territorial realities exposed for too many years to the risks for public health and the environment”. «I will therefore be available to attend other sessions of the municipal council, starting from the second ten days of June 2024, on dates to be agreed between the respective Secretariats”, concludes Errigo. In Crotone, however, word had already spread of Errigo’s non-availability to participate in the city council meeting and a controversy had broken out. Some city councilors had already publicly argued due to the absence of the commissioner.
