Idrovia Ferrarese, we proceed with the works to adapt the bridges along the Boicelli canal (Betto, Confortino, Mizzana, Freight Railway), with the financing obtained from the MIT for the construction of the new Betto and Confortino bridges.

The Region makes this known, thus listening to the requests of the Municipality and Petrochemical, which asked the Emilia Romagna Region for an adjustment compared to the initial proposed project. This project, in fact, particularly on the Ponte Betto (via delle Bonifiche), would have closed the accesses of goods to the companies operating in the hub for the entire duration of the demolition and reconstruction works on the bridge, with serious consequences for both the workers and for productions. From the important collaboration and discussion between the Municipality, Petrochemical and Region, therefore, we will proceed with the construction of a temporary bridge, so as not to interrupt access, thanks also to the purchase of an area by the Ifm Consortium, to be able to build the infrastructure.

The implementation of the works will be carried out by the Emilia Romagna Region. As for the design choices, the Emilia Romagna Region highlights that for the Confortino Bridge “the construction of a temporary vehicle bridge upstream of the existing one will be envisaged”, while “the new bridge will instead be built on the same area of ​​land as the existing bridge, adapting the tie rod”. As for the Betto Bridge: “The construction of a temporary vehicle bridge downstream of the existing one will be planned, which will affect the “Tre ochine” site only for the duration of the construction site”. The temporary road system will remain active until the new Ponte Betto is completed. “The new bridge will in fact be built on the site of the existing bridge, adapting the clearance in compliance with the original design solution”. Work on the Ferrara waterway, a strategic infrastructure for the development of a territory, is progressing rather quickly and has accelerated in recent times. Three bridges have already been built, Bardella (five million), Madonna (2.7 million) and Final di Rero (two million). The project also includes the creation of an island and the dredging of the Po di Volano.
