Sustainable Development Festival, six days of meetings in Parma to think about the present and future

From 13 to 18 May the curtain rises for the ASviS Parma Sustainable Development Festival: six days of events on environmental, economic and social themes, always keeping sustainability and the UN Agenda 2030 as a common thread, the action plan signed in 2015 by 193 United Nations countries including Italy.

In Parma the Festival is organized by the University of Parma, the Municipality of Parma and On/Off, with the collaboration and support of numerous partners. About thirty events are scheduled to discuss the future of sustainability, in a Europe on the threshold of elections and in a world dangerously close to an extensive conflict.

With its rich program of events, the Parma Festival aims to be an opportunity for widespread discussion and study on issues whose urgency is evident, not only for the future but for the present.

The official opening is scheduled for Monday 13 May at 11am in the Aula Magna of the University of Parma. The rector Paolo Martelli, the councilor Gianluca Borghi and Pierluigi Stefanini, president of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), promoter of the national Festival, will be present. During the meeting, which will also be broadcast live on the University of Parma’s YouTube channel, Alessio Malcevschi and Ximena Malaga Palacio will introduce the contents of the six days of initiatives.

The Festival will then continue with a series of events open to everyone.
