The first day of the second edition of the tour entitled “The 500 in the heart of Sicily” took place on Saturday 11 May 2024, organized by the trustees of the Coordinations of Agrigento, Caltanissetta, Caltagirone, Enna and Santa Caterina Villarmosa (Tabone Dario, Riggi mario, Marcinnò Salvatore, Folisi Pietro and Carvotta Salvatore).
The Cinquecentisti climbed aboard their 500 and set off to reach Caltanissetta, the first stop of the tour.
At 11.00 they left for the second stage: Agrigento, the local Coordinamento was waiting for them and gave them the identification number and the welcome bag containing gadgets created specifically for the event. After the tour of the city the participants stopped for lunch.
The 4 best and most original spring desserts, prepared by the sixteenth century artists themselves to participate in the competition announced by the trustees held in the conference room of the “Tre Torri” hotel, were awarded cups by a special jury.
In the afternoon, the 70 crews headed towards the third stop, Naro, where they were welcomed by the city’s deputy mayor with an aperitif offered by the local bars and guided to discover the Castle and the Houseteca in honor of Pietro Barone del Volo.
The first day of the tour ended in Agrigento with dinner, dancing and an overnight stay at the “Tre Torri” Hotel.
