The fireplaces were wanted by Ferdinand I to heat the room, given that he himself suffered from gout and needed to live in a warm environment. The main feature of the Villa is the giant stone staircase that winds down, accompanying the visitor towards the palace. Inside the immense park there was also the Royal Barge that is, the park of the Villa which was used for hunting trips, at least until 1626 when it was definitively closed.

Great artists such as Galileo Galilei have passed through the walls of the Villa, invited in 1608 by the Grand Duke to teach his son Cosimo mathematics.
