Zoet 6.5 – He can’t really do anything about Idzes’ goal, but the save on Gytkjaer’s header, which denied Venezia the second goal, was fundamental.
Mateju 6.5 – In the first half he was in a bit of trouble, but in the second half he canceled out Venezia’s attack together with his teammates.
Hristov 7 – Pohjanpalo today plays one of his worst games of the season and the Bulgarian defender is one of the reasons for the attacker’s flop.
Bertola 6.5 – One of the last to give up, only a muscle stop forces him to exit. (From 79′ Wisniewski 6 – He returns from a very long injury and helps defend the result in the final).
Elijah 7.5 – An arrow. In the first half he was his best, in the second he confirmed himself and the assist for Reca was the highlight of his performance.
Nagy 6 – At his worst moment he was the only one to provide some light, but he dropped in the second half, especially physically.
S. Esposito 7.5 – The midfield catalyst takes his team by the hand, as a technical leader, with some out of class plays and as a character leader with a lot of aggression in the middle of the pitch.
Bandinelli 6.5 – In the first half he was holding his breath, but in the second half he recovered and was the driving force behind the Ligurians. (From 75′ Cassata SV)
Reca 7 – Idzes was lost when Venezia took the lead, but he made amends with the winning goal in the second half. The most important goal of the season. (From 75′ Vignali SV)
F. Esposito 7 – In the first half it didn’t seem to be his night, but in the second half he scored the 1-1 goal as a true attacker. (From 65′ Falcinelli 6 – He enters to keep as many balls as possible and manages to get a yellow card 15 seconds after entering the pitch.)
Di Serio 6.5 – He works hard and does a great job of blocking F.Esposito’s 1-1 goal.
D’Angelo 7 – At the end of the first half it seemed that Spezia had entered a nightmare, they were behind in the score and only negative news was coming from the other fields. In the second half his team entered the green rectangle giving it their all and overturned it. Great job done by the technician.
Venice
Joronen 6.5 – He saves his team on various occasions and in every way, even saving the ball with his face. He is not to blame for the goals.
Idzes 6 – He unlocks the match by towering over Reca, but then it is the latter who mocks him in advance of Spezia’s 2-1 goal. (From 84′ Ellertsson 5.5 – He comes in, gets a yellow and doesn’t make an impact.)
Svoboda 5 – In the first half he holds well, but on the 1-1 goal he is too light on Di Serio. Even at 2-1 he was surprised. (From 77′ Altar 4 – If Svoboda did badly, his replacement did worse: sent onto the pitch to exploit his strength in the air, he got sent off.)
Sverko 5.5 – In the first half all Venezia’s defenders performed admirably and he continually blocked the Ligurians’ attacks, but went off the rails in the second half.
Candle 5.5 – He starts well with a couple of interesting crosses, then is practically eaten by Reca. (From 77′ Olivieri 5.5 – Enters going full flank on the left, makes a bit too many mistakes).
Busio 5.5 – After a few plays, the young American is off today.
Tessmann 5.5 – Today the midfielder is really tangled up in the middle of the pitch, he is unable to express himself as usual. Slow and prim.
Andersen 6.5 – He assisted Idzes’ goal. Replaced at half-time. (From 46′ Bjarkason 5 – Terrible entry onto the pitch, his unrealistic shot in the 95th minute is the summary of his performance.)
Zampano 5 – He loses, and by a lot, the comparison with Elijah. Bad. (From 62′ Pierini 5.5 – Not much better than whoever he replaces.)
Pohjanpalo 5 – The worst performance from Serie B’s top scorer. Not his night, he really gets everything wrong.
Gytkjaer 5.5 – You spend a little more than your department colleague, who however was also a huge absentee from the match. Zoet, however, denied him the joy of scoring with a great save.
Vanoli 5.5 – He gets caged by Spezia, he had a great opportunity to reach Serie A this evening, but the hosts’ fatal five minutes postpone everything. In the playoffs his team still starts as the big favorite.
