Just over 24 hours from serious injury of a policeman at the Lambrate station during the arrest of a 37-year-old Moroccan mana photocopy case to Central Station from Milan. This time though policeafter using the taser to no avail to stop a 27 year old Egyptian in a rage, who threw stones with a sort of rudimentary slingshothe shot a gunshot injuring the man at the shoulder. His conditions they are not seriousthe bullet did not damage any vital organs and he is now hospitalized.
It all happened at 2.20 am Friday night in Piazza Luigi di Savoia, in Central. Shortly before, Polfer officers had stopped the 36-year-old, who was illegal, because he was considered illegal responsible for a robbery of a Moroccan immigrant in front of the station. They had been Army soldiers to report the attack and call for help the Polfer agents. When the 27-year-old was released (in the meantime the victim had been taken to hospital, from where he then left) after being reported for robbery and resistance, the man stopped in the area of the station where he started destroying the furnishings and throwing stones wrapping them in a rag used as a slingshot. At that point the police were forced to intervene again in an attempt to stop him. In the hands of the 36 year old too a piece of marble recovered from a slab that he had torn away shortly before.
The Egyptian, probably under the influence of drugthen attacked the officers who “to protect their own and the safety of others” used the taser, electric gun, in an attempt to block it. The 27-year-old has though continued to advance towards them and at that point one of the officers has fired a shot with his service pistol which injured the man in the left shoulder. The attacker was rescued and immediately taken to the Niguarda hospital where the doctors ascertained that the bullet did not dent any vital organs.
The 27 year old Egyptian, unprecedentedhad already been photographed on April 24, 2024 in Belluno where had requested international protection and his practice had already been approved. Previously he had presented the same request in Ascoli, where the application had however been rejected due to unavailability.
The police officer who shot is investigated for aggravated malicious woundingbut the Prosecutor’s Office has already hypothesized the justifications for the legitimate defense and the legitimate use of weapons, two causes of justification that the investigators will have to evaluate. This is a technical entry in the register of suspects for these investigations.
