Speaking to GiornaleRossoblu.it, the former Taranto midfielder Andrea Mazzaferro talks about his experience with the rossoblù shirt also making reference to the current play offs. Here are his words:

On his experience at Taranto: ”I spent 4 years in Taranto. I experienced both promotion and relegation. Then there was also failure. I remember a wonderful city where I had a good time, the sea beyond football and, obviously, the fans who have always been close to the team for better or for worse. They also challenged us in those 4 years, I experienced a lot in Taranto. But I must say that I had a very good time, maybe less elsewhere, but in Taranto I really had a good time. It was a wonderful experience. I experienced a promotion with Taranto, it was a wonderful feeling. I remember the public with great pleasure, even if there were some disagreements, but those are things that pass. But I remember the Taranto crowd as a very warm and affectionate crowd, which lives for football.”

On the playoffs: ”When I played, only the top two went up, so a lot has changed. In my opinion, there are too many teams in the play-offs. They probably did it to make the championship more interesting, because then if only 4 left in the play-offs, the championship would lose interest in the final days, as teams that no longer have anything to say to the championship would relax. They probably use this formula to make the championship alive. I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, but in my opinion it should be revised”

On the results obtained by the rossoblù team: ”We need a capable coach. There are many components, you don’t win just by how you invest your money. There are many other things around that make the championship go well”
