With regional law no. 6/2024 Umbria promotes and supports renewable energy communities with 110 million euros. Economically disadvantaged individuals and facilities in mountainous and inland areas will be given priority.
The Umbria Region promotes and supports the Renewable energy communities (Cer) and collective self-consumption with training initiatives, the preparation of projects, documentation relating to the establishment of communities andpurchase of systems of energy production and storage. For the implementation of the same regional law, spending of 110 million euros has been authorized for the years 2024-2026.
In determining the extent of the forms of support, as provided for by regional law n. 6/2024in order to combat energy poverty, the Region will take into account the economic condition of the members of the renewable energy communities and the location of the same systems. Priority will be given to projects located in mountainous and inland areas, to counteract the abandonment of the territories and encourage their repopulation.
Particular attention will be paid to the presence in the Cer degli Local societies who have approved integrated adaptation and mitigation plans or strategies climate changesor who have made public areas and roofs available on which to build community facilities.
Region and local authorities within 1 year from the entry into force of the regional law they will have to identify i roofs of buildings public areas and the public areas that they will make available, including to third parties, for the installation of systems serving the renewable energy communities.
Within the next 6 months the Regional Council will have to establish the regional register of Renewable Energy Communities.
