CIVITANOVA – Several hundred euros and a television had disappeared from two supermarkets. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the perpetrators were a 39-year-old former employee and a 55-year-old accused of conspiracy theft. The facts alleged against the two defendants, the first from the province of Ancona and the second from Civitanova, would have occurred between 21 and 26 July 2021 in two supermarkets of the same chain, one is located in Civitanova and the other in Porto Sant’Elpidio, where the 39-year-old worked at the time.
According to the accusatory reconstruction (the file belongs to the public prosecutor Vinceno Carusi) the 39-year-old, abusing his position as an employee, on several occasions would have simulated the sale of numerous products, from food items to planetary mixers, pajamas, a drill, housewares and more to then carry out the return operations and thus appropriate the relevant countervalue which once was equal to 365 euros, another time to 655 euros, another to 349 euros and then again 212 euros. On one occasion however, the then employee after having withdrawn a Grunding 50” television which was displayed in the supermarket, he would have placed it behind the register allowing the 55-year-old to take it after paying for some food products.
Yesterday the trial opened against both of them before the judge of the Court of Macerata Roberto Evangelisti and the public prosecutor Stefano Lanari, then the hearing was postponed to begin hearing the first prosecution witnesses. The defendants are defended by lawyers Alessandro Verdicchio and Vanni Vecchioli.
