only 75 buses pay in two months

Only 75 extra-urban buses among the hundreds that arrived in Agrigento in the months of March and April paid the parking tax.

Local police councilor Carmelo Cantone provided the number to the city council in response to a question from the Christian Democrats, however clarifying how the system does not work, both from a structural and organizational point of view.

The councilor clarifies that the Municipality “has not forced” on the control front, “because to send, to direct the buses to Cugno Vela, it needs to be equipped. And Cugno Vela is not equipped… With 40-50 degrees it is not we can ask the bus drivers to go to the desert, which is also impracticable for now.” However, Cantone admits that the buses were parked there on the days of the festival, but this does not justify the small number of taxes paid.

Council member Micciché refers to the fact that, for years now, tourist buses should – pursuant to an ordinance – park in Villaseta. It is forbidden (on paper) to park in any other part of the city, even if, apparently, at the moment the “firmness” line seems destined to disappear.
