the path towards greater urban safety

There is still a lot to do regarding the camera system in Pordenone. Although several have been replaced over the course of two years, the total number and overall quality are not satisfactory. Currently, at the end of 2023, the city has 105 functioning cameras, an increase compared to 2020 when there were only 88. However, according to estimates based on the areas not yet covered, at least fifty more would be needed, all of the latest generation and high definition, capable of providing clear images even at night. This involves significant costs, which vary from three thousand to 10 thousand euros per camera, depending on the optical characteristics and viewing capacity. Furthermore, they must be mounted and connected to the control panel. This leads to the second problem: the current control room is not sufficiently equipped to handle additional viewing screens, and more staff dedicated to this service would be needed.
