CARRARA – Carrara goes full Underground Battle . Curtain raised from Saturday 11th May (and until the late afternoon of Sunday 12th) on the historic center of Carrara (Ms) with the arrival of 1,500 dancers and 80 crews from all over Italy and also from abroad to participate in the great outdoor event dedicated to street dance with the best international gurus including stages, exciting “battles” and shows. The event promoted by the Urban Concept Academy under the artistic direction of the choreographer Massimiliano Mosti who will be the spokesperson for the fight against bullying with the campaign, is ready to make the historic center dance in what promises to be, given the numbers and the cast of guests, a record edition.

Piazza d’Armi will be the heart of all the activities of the Underground Battle: from the battles on Saturday afternoon, to the stages up to the choreographic competition with the best crews and the best dancers and the shows on Sunday. Between the Music Stage and Davis’ floating marble ball, which adorns the square together with the monument to Pellegrino Rossi, a stage will be set up together with mega screens and lots of music to give the competitors an even more enveloping experience. As mentioned, we start on Saturday 11 May (12.30 pm) with the registrations and freestyler battles in Piazza d’Armi for all the competing categories (hip hop and popping) from which the first winners will emerge. Awards ceremony scheduled for approximately 6.30/7.00 pm. The following day, Sunday 12 May, the historic center wakes up with the Dancehall stage with Lolo Dance (10.00 am) and the choreographic workshop with Marco Cavalloro (11.00 am). Followed by the talk dedicated to the topic of bullying (12.00) and around lunchtime the opening of registration for the choreographic competition (12.30). The highlight is on the menu from 1.00 pm onwards with the battles of the under 11s, the choreographic competition (from 3.00 pm) for the categories solos under 16, open solos, duo under 16, two open, crew under 11), three shows and the awards ceremony around 7.30 pm with the mayor of Carrara, Serena Arrighi.

The album of Underground Battle guests who will take turns on stage is spacious: from Alex The Cage to the co-founder of the Streetly academy in Rome Frenkyz, from Neji of the Double Struggle Crew to Orlando Molteni of Buddha G, from Axelito to the freestyler Nury . Also on the program are free Dancehall workshops with Lolo, founder of the “Say What – Hip Hop dance studio” in Florence and with Simone Ranieri, director of “The Beat Dream”, International Dance Camp and Competition held in Liguria. The event, and all the participants, will be the spokesperson for the fight against bullying with the campaign.
