All welcomed by the greetings of president of the regional council via video link, from the majority vice president, from whom the project started, and again from Francesco Palumbo, director of Fondazione Sistema Toscana, and Lorenzo Pierazzi technical director of the regional school office. During the morning, the president of Tuscany, who wanted to lend their support to the initiative and encourage the kids to continue along the path they started. The project is included in the framework of opportunities offered by the regional law of 7 February 2023 n. 4, ‘Interventions of the Regional Council for the realization of the statutory objectives regarding sustainable development, culture and tourism’.

Authenticity‘, ‘History‘, ‘Nature‘, ‘Contemporaneity‘, ‘I walk‘: these are the words that most characterized the children’s interactions on their lived experience, a heritage that can now be consulted on an online platform that collects and re-proposes all the results, videos and images of the meetings between the classes. A project of this magnitude prompted the president of the regional council to connect via video, in which he recounted the steps that led the project to take shape, giving life to a new way of understanding youth policies, involving girls and boys to enrich our communities and create innovative active citizenship policies. With the hope that the relationships born from this experience will continue to grow.

This is a truly extraordinary project which finds fulfillment on this beautiful final day. This is the thought expressed by the majority vice president of the Regional Council, who enthusiastically addressed the audience of young people. Getting in touch with emotions, establishing new relationships and at the same time acquiring awareness of one’s Tuscan identity, he explained, were the basis of the idea from which the project was born.

At the end of the morning, each project participant was given thegenerational card‘, a sort of cultural identity card which is both a certificate of participation and encouragement to feel like representatives of Tuscan culture.

The director, Francesco Palumbo, underlined how the mission of the Fondazione Sistema Toscana is to enhance regional identity with digital tools. An identity that is also built through culture, the environment and the landscape, themes of which the over 200 students were able to give a contemporary interpretation through the discovery of the most representative places of our territory. Particular satisfaction was then expressed by the FST director for the online publication of www.generazionetoscana.it, the web platform which shows, via an interactive map, the photograph of the Tuscan cultural heritage seen by generation Z.

For Lorenzo Pierazzi, technical director of the Tuscany Regional School Office, it was a very interesting experience, a brilliant idea from the vice president and the entire Presidency Office of the Regional Council. The over two hundred girls and boys were involved as best they could, becoming explorers and storytellers of the area. Hence, the hope of re-proposing the initiative that allows children to become active through knowledge of their own territory and discover other worlds, improve skills and form new relationships with their peers.
