A weekend that promises to be full of events in Pisa and the surrounding area, with the debut of the ‘Art View’ cultural festival in Cascina. Celebration in Migliarino and Ghizzano with village fairs and festivals and a proposal to take advantage of a whole day in nature in Calci.
Anyone who needs to reach Pisa or move within the city on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May will be able to do so taking into consideration the provisions of temporary changes to the road network to allow the taking place of some events adopted by the Municipality of Pisa.
A pleasant visit to simply browse through the exhibitions or with the precise aim of finding a long-sought record or vinyl: enthusiasts and collectors will be satisfied by the new, very central appointment with the Pisa Record Exhibition where twenty-five exhibitors will allow for the whole weekend to range between any genre, from rock to classical, from jazz to blues, from punk to new wave, from experimental music to Italian songwriting, from English prog to reggae.
On the evening of Saturday 11 May, an unprecedented Piazza del Duomo, with reduced lighting, will be the setting that will allow you to observe the sky through the use of telescopes. The event is open and free of charge, organized by the Municipality of Pisa as part of the ‘RiscopriAmo Pisa’ initiatives in collaboration with the ‘Astrofili Tampiano’ group, which will make available experience, equipment and tools appropriately equipped both for ocular vision and for the photographic shooting, with the support and availability of the Opera della Primaziale Pisana.
A weekend dedicated to tasting craft beers produced in different areas of Italy, accompanied by a rich offer of gastronomic options. It is the new edition of ‘BeeRiver’ at Stazione Leopolda, capable of completing the experience not only with blues musical entertainment, but also with workshops and insights to learn how to savor each beer to the fullest with the tastiest gastronomic combinations.
There is very little time left for the first edition of the Art View Festival in Cascina to begin, a cultural event where popularizers, critics, writers and international experts will converge who will bring their contributions on the role of women in art, chosen as the theme of this debut edition. Among the many events in the rich calendar to experience art in its various forms there are also appointments with photography. In fact, the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Photographers from the Alinari archive’ will be held on Sunday 12 May at the Città del Teatro, through which we will discover a significant female presence in this art since its origins, which is often underestimated.
A day of celebration on Sunday for the hamlet of the Municipality of Vecchiano thanks to the town fair: not only the inevitable street stalls and rides, but also many side initiatives, including the Dog Balance Fit and a canine beauty parade put on point of the association ‘Le queue nel cuore’ Odv and by Laura Consuelo Di Muro.
A proposal to spend an entire day relaxing in the open air immersed in the nature of the olive groves of Monte Pisano with an event promoted by Città dell’Olio and the Municipality of Calci with activities conducted by representatives of local bodies and associations, agronomy experts and olive growing, as well as Mental Wellness professionals, in order to offer a complete experience of psycho-physical well-being deriving from contact with nature.
Edition number 47 for the festival of the small and colorful village of the Municipality of Peccioli which will take place throughout the weekend. An excellent opportunity to visit the area and then treat yourself to a lunch or dinner based on bruschetta prepared with oil and garlic and other Tuscan dishes. Markets and musical and theatrical performances complete the event.
